The October 25th, 2011 Daily Good” brought us a very inspirational story about generosity and an anonymous project called 52times52.comGiving for the sake of giving is very good for your heart and soul. Giving freely to others … without expectation of anything in return is even better.

Giving to others is an expansive energy. When we freely give to others, the energy returns to the giver multi-fold, in untold ways. The project 52times52.com was established to give 52 dollars anonymously to a different recipient or cause each week of 2011. This unique idea is gaining momentum. You can join the movement if you’d like or consciously incorporate generosity into your own life and those you touch in whatever way works best for you.

There are many ways to give to others, including good deeds, kind words, extending compassion and forgiveness, thank yous and acknowledgements, charitable actions, money and more. Think how different your life could be if you freely and consciously gave something of value to another person every day. If that sounds like too much of a stretch, consider doing something out of the ordinary once a week, performing 52: good deeds, acts of kindness, thank you notes, random donations … you decide.

I often hear that it takes at least 21 days to create a new habit. As we approach the beginning of November, the month of traditionally giving thanks, there is time to amplify and solidify this concept of giving for the sake of giving. There is time to make it a habit.

We are living through an evolutionary shift in consciousness on this planet and giving to others is a simple way to contribute. Whatever you do, give from your heart and soul in ways that bring you joy. Energetically, Joy is a high vibration (higher than love, according to David Hawkins in  his book Power vs. Force) that counterbalances a wider circle of low energy. So as more and more Joy coexists with the chaos that see and experience in today’s world, we are bound to see a visible shift in the collective. We are bound to see a happier, more loving and generous world around us.

Mystery versus Mastery

Friday, January 7th, 2011

” Much of life can never be explained but only witnessed”.

From Kitchen Table Wisdom, Rachel Naomi Remen

I have changed my mind about the concept of mastery in life. I think that learning to flow with the mystery, opening to grace, living with truth and the full expression of who you are—warts and all—is the way…an honest path with heart. And perhaps that is mastery in the end.

Surrender the Mind—Open The Heart to Love

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

Great commentary on the working of the mind–and finding the heartbeat of the universe…the God within>

Bedes Griffith was a Catholic monk who adopted the trappings of Hindu monastic life and entered into dialogue with Hinduism. Griffiths wrote twelve books on Hindu-Christian dialogue. Griffiths’s form of Vedanta-inspired Christianity is called Wisdom Christianity.[citation needed]

Griffiths was a proponent of integral thought, which attempts to harmonize scientific and spiritual world views. In a 1983 interview he stated,

We’re now being challenged to create a theology which would use the findings of modern science and eastern mysticism which, as you know, coincide so much, and to evolve from that a new theology which would be much more adequate.”[1]

Griffiths died at Shantivanam in 1993, aged 86. The archives of the Bede Griffiths Trust are located at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California. ( From Wikipedia)

Your Soul’s Purpose

Sunday, May 23rd, 2010

Do you wonder about your soul’s journey? Do you ever wish you had more information about your life purpose? Do you ever ask the question, “What AM I doing here?”

Join us on Monday’s radio show when we interview Carol Ciocco and hear about her work with Shamanic Astrology and how it helps to answer these questions. If you cannot join us live, the show will be available for download immediately following its conclusion.

Shamanic Astrology is a non-traditional, cutting-edge, evolutionary astrological system that directly focuses on the journey of your soul. In a Shamanic Astrology Reading we look to the birth chart to see where we came from (our karmic past “rut” that must be avoided) and where our Soul intends us to go (our Leading Edge of Evolution). When we move into the leading edge of our evolutionary path, we feel alive, passionate and filled with joy. Joy leads to service and we move forward on the Soul’s ultimate purpose: to take on greater and greater Light, to gain en-light-enment.

Discovering Soul Qualities through Archetypes

Friday, March 26th, 2010

One approach that can help us to understand soul development, inborn qualities and their expression is by exploring archetypes. Archetypes are patterns of energy that represent positive and negative human characteristics. Archetypes describe patterns that we manifest in our energy systems and in our lives, for good or ill.

Beyond being a symbolic language for specific energetic patterns that reflect the best and worst in human nature, archetypes can describe something of our individual soul nature. It is obvious that we all have different inclinations, aversions, assets and deficits.

Exploring archetypes can provide a deeper understanding of ourselves and our soul’s development and purpose. With this broader awareness we are freer and better able to choose a more positive natural expression of our energies.

Archetypal information resonates deeply with our psyche, so it can help us sidestep a lot of resistance to change, more easily embrace self acceptance and more gracefully shift from negative to positive expressions of energy.

As you investigate the descriptions of the archetypes, you will probably find it easy to recognize the ones that operate in your life. After all, this knowledge is already known to you deep inside!

For quick reference and as a way to begin becoming acquainted with this particular concept of energy patterns, see the descriptions below correlating the positive and negative expression of each archetypal energy as well as the chakra associated with that energy.
