Shift now, avoid the rush!
Using tools that clear, balance and strengthen your personal energy will help ensure that your energetic requests are ones that you want to show up in your life.
In spite of having a great deal of knowledge regarding the topic of conscious creation, many people still have difficulty making the process work for them. This can lead to discouragement or to abandonment of the process altogether.
One reason for the difficulties in learning how to consciously create is that navigating the inner landscape and the world of energy requires different attitudes, approaches, and tools than does navigating the exterior world. Another is that it generally takes time to learn and integrate new ways of being. It is possible to have huge shifts in no time at all, but most of us will probably need some degree of persistence, patience and perseverance as we adopt new attitudes, methods and world views. It took time to form the patterns you now have, so it may take time to shift into new patterns and frequencies and sustain them. Soon enough the new patterns and frequencies will become Self reinforcing, especially if you adopt a light playful attitude.
The specific approaches we cover in Session 5 of 12 Keys to Life and Self Mastery help you to move beyond some of the common pitfalls to co-creating in your life.
You will learn how to:

Everything is Energy
For thousands of years people have known that everything is energy. In Feng Shui we study the I Ching (pronounced “ee- jing”), one of the oldest books from China. This book is also called the Book of Changes. It is about the continual changes in the Universe. It is about living in harmony and balance with nature. It is about action and reaction. It is about going with the flow and what happens when you don’t. Three laws of nature that humans share with all species and the earth in general are (1) we are alive, (2) we are connected and (3) we are always changing. We are deeply connected to the earth and all animal and plant life around us. We have gotten out of balance with nature and now realize how integral this relationship is to our well-being. One way we are connected to other people and living beings is through the power of thought. Have you ever had a thought, only to find someone close to you had the same or similar thought? Thought is energy. To understand our collective thought or mass consciousness, look at what appears in the news and what grabs our focus or attention every day. These thoughts have energy. The energy increases as the thoughts are fed. As the thoughts are fed, they are given more power. As they are given power, they become real or the “truth” as we know it. And the story goes on.
Energy takes many forms
The energy of the universe takes many forms and has many layers, and so do WE. If we are to become all we can be, with the ability to channel and shape our life force for the greatest benefit, then it is necessary to have a working knowledge of the hardware and the software of our Selves.
We have all heard “knowledge is power,” and nowhere is that more true than when we are speaking about ourselves and the lives we create. Self-knowledge includes understanding how we work as human beings as well as how we have personally operated up until now to construct our lives.
That brings us to Self-awareness. Self-awareness includes the ability to observe oneself, but the way we are using the term implies even more than that. We share the view that each of us is in the world to bring more of our spiritual nature into human form – to become more of our authentic Selves and grow past the small identity that may have served us well until now but no longer does.
We live in a time that necessitates living in new ways … a time that requires us to rise to challenges from a different perspective than in the past so we can live lives that are more nurturing, satisfying, fulfilling, abundant and prosperous in every way.
To us, the term Self-awareness includes a knowing beyond observation of our patterns of thought, feeling and action. It describes a presence of “I AMNESS” that is beyond the average thought, feeling or sensation of human experience. It is the direct awareness of our spiritual nature.
In this work we are addressing moving from the lower mind controlled by the ego and its self-protective – but often mistaken – ideas and beliefs to a level of BEING that embodies more of your spiritual essence … your soul nature. This is the place where we embrace our full potential and engage the power of our authentic Selves.
There is an art and science involved in this opening to the authentic Self. The way has been laid out for us through the millennia, but now we have the additional benefit of research in Mind-Body Medicine and Energy Psychology, as well as Quantum Physics, documenting age-old wisdom and providing important information to help speed us along on this exciting adventure of discovery.
The beginning of the journey to your authentic self necessarily includes a working knowledge of the mind, as it is the vehicle that transports us for a portion of our journey. Our mind is not only an operating system; it is also where many of our obstacles lie. To understand the mind’s structure and have a working knowledge of its functions can help smooth our way as we seek to create change in our lives.
In session two we will be discussing the three levels of mind and how to use each of them appropriately. If we are to bring our best selves to light, then it is necessary to have the knowledge, skills and ability to manage our basic operating systems so they work for us rather than be left to default patterns that can upset our best efforts at creating a life we love to live.
Excerpt from Chapter 2, 12 Keys for Life and Self Mastery
Awakening is a process, a journey with a road that reaches behind and before us.
Awakening allows for: eyes that open wider, ears that hear more clearly, a mind that broadens and expands to include more and exclude less, and a heart that both widens and opens.
Awakening is an imperfect course, one with jagged edges that can pierce the smoothness of our contentment and explode the inner space of our reality.
Awakening requires courage, perseverance, commitment and practice:
Courage to face the day, to see how far we’ve come AND how far we have yet to go
Perseverance to show up, shift and move forward while honoring the missteps
Patience to ride the currents—the updrafts and the troughs
Commitment to practice even in the stuck times
Awakening is allowing our humanness to be touched our spirit and be shaped by it. It is then that resistance can fall away and we can open into the ease of soul, and let it lead the way.

Physics, Life and Conscious Creation
The following quote is one that provides some understanding
of the territory we need to navigate in order to live
as more fully empowered citizens of the universe, using
and managing energy to its maximum benefit in our world.
Dr. Stuart Hammeroff, Director of Consciousness
Studies, at the University of Arizona says:
“The universe seems to be very strange. There seem to be
two sets of laws that govern the universe. In our everyday,
classical world, meaning at roughly our size and time scales,
things are described by Newton’s laws of motion set down
hundreds and hundreds of years ago. However, when we
get down to a small scale, to the level of atoms, a different
set of laws takes over. These are the Quantum Laws.”
Classical Physics explains how things work from a
logical, linear perspective. This is useful in our everyday lives
in a variety of ways. However when it comes to energy,
consciousness and creating our personal reality, Quantum
Physics and its principles are more useful.
It is important to realize, though, that we have all been
acculturated within the framework of Classical Physics;
so when we try to move into new territory and our minds
are given new information, we may run smack into subtle
aspects of the mind that BELIEVE AND FEEL in a
deterministic, linear and predictable way.
You may want to accept an exciting new belief and way
of approaching life, but the mind may hold on to a
felt sense of the old way of seeing the world. This is one reason
why it is important to incorporate techniques that allow you to
inspect the contents of your mind in order to be able to
have a clear playing field as you learn to adopt new ways of being.
It is amazing to see the outpouring of help that arises in the world when disaster strikes such as it has in Haiti this week. Compassion, empathy and a sincere desire to aid our fellow humans —the best in us—is openly displayed and freely given in times of great need. This is truly heartening—a kind of counterbalance to the terror and violence we also witness at times in our world and in our fellow humans.
When disaster strikes it can rock the very foundation of our individual and collective psyches. It is as though our deepest fears are shaken loose from the comfortable bed where they have been lying and rise up to remind us that they are still there. We become aware once again that safety is not a guarantee in this world. The truly terrifying emotion that gets triggered in such circumstances is one of powerlessness.
Someone once said that the emotion we most feared was one of powerlessness. My experience and observation in this lifetime is that this is probably true. We REALLY do NOT like to feel that we are powerless in any area of our lives.
Daily life, at least in most of the western world, can lull us into a sense of complacency where we can “forget” about this issue of powerlessness. Of course unconscious behaviors show us that in fact some part of us is trying mightily to hang on to a feeling of power, control and safety. However, when catastrophe strikes the mighty energy of fear awakens.
Each person has their own unique way to defend or cope with the arousal of such fear. Some go on the offensive and cast hateful (and often totally illogical) blame on others. Some creatively weave stories that assign power to an external source with rules and regulations that they themselves just happen to be in alignment with, but the folks who are suffering the calamity are not and hence their troubles. In fact it may be that we all carry some version of this story in our deepest of hidden places—be good, do this, follow that and no harm will come to you! But disaster has a way of shaking our belief systems and opening us up to our fears about safety, security, as well as to what is really important. This can be a time when we can discover things about ourselves and choose (or be forced!) to grow and develop aspects of ourselves that we may not otherwise.
If we ask questions about our deepest fears…if we confront them and look to what it would take to dissolve them, heal them, let them go…and yes, maybe even accept that we may have to live with some part of them and learn to manage them more grace-fully.
Our true power lies within the better part of ourselves, in our spiritual nature. We can choose to grow and develop this aspect—to learn how to attune to the energy of love, peace and ease and allow it to flow through us even in an imperfect world. Aligning with the energy of these higher qualities strengthens us and those around us through a kind of ripple effect.
Learning to root and ground ourselves in these stronger energies opens us up so we become more aware of healthier choices and responses to our world –ones that nourish and enhance ourselves, others and the world. Centering in these energies brings clarity, a higher way of knowing and Being to us. Our choices and responses can become more kind, loving and wise.
A question that often is asked is, “Is there a higher purpose in the disasters that strike us? “ Perhaps the answer is that is our choice. Perhaps the real question needs to be, “How do we want to respond to the challenges and conditions of our lives?” We can choose to develop our awareness and consciousness. We can choose to work toward an integration of mind and heart. It is there that we can find the deep choice of wisdom and love.
A very dear and wise friend once said to me, “In my culture we are taught to choose well at the start”. Each morning we each have a new start….how will we choose? Your energy matters! Your heart matters! You matter…choose well what energy you live your day(s) in.
Family get togethers, office parties, neighborhood gatherings—at this time of year we have so any opportunities for encountering the relationship dynamics that exist in our lives. At other times of the year they may be less apparent, more able to recede into the background or be avoided but the holidays bring us right up against them!
A major necessity for healthy relationships that work for all involved are good boundaries. Without them we fall into victimhood, feel out of control and overwhelmed by the demands, needs and desires of those around us.
How can we begin to approach this issue of establishing healthy boundaries?
1. Develop self respect, self love and self acceptance. We have all heard that we need to care for ourselves before we can to truly care for others. This must become a reality that lives within you instead of simply an idea that exists in your mind.
2. Boundaries are not about conflict, acting against another or doing something TO them. Boundaries are about identifying what YOU will do, be, tolerate or expect in a relationship. With healthy boundaries you take charge of your self—you do not and cannot control others.
3. Bring your focus back to yourself instead of trying to be in another’s head—attempting to mind read them. Be clear on your values. Identify your beliefs about what is important and healthy for you.
4. Center and ground within your own energy field. Work with techniques that help you to connect with your core, practicing until you can reliably contact the peace and love that naturally exists there. Develop the ability to maintain that focus, learn to live from that center instead of attempting to think or analyze your way through each relationship situation. Working in this way provides you with a more reliable means of creating healthy boundaries out of which flows the most appropriate and kind response to others.
On Monday, December 21, 2009 we will be discussing more about boundaries and how to take charge of your energy. We will be talking about three common types of energetic interactions and how to make them positive for you and others. In addition, we will be introducing four patterns that are used to maintain control, fill up energy reserves and attempt to get needs met. As with the three types of energy flows between people, these patterns can have a positive or negative influence. It is your awareness, knowledge and ability to manage your energy that makes the difference. So don’t go into the holiday gatherings unprotected and unprepared —learn what is going on beneath the surface of social dynamics and you can sail through the holidays energized, rested and able to truly enjoy the season!

Here is a brief excerpt from the section of the program where we discuss contributions from various teachers of conscious creation throughout this century:
In the 1990s we began to hear from William Tiller, a scientist and Stanford Professor who has been very involved in his own spiritual development since the sixties as well as conducting experiments, writing and reporting on matter, energy and the nature of consciousness. Dr. Tiller has contributed much to our understanding of the unseen forces in our universe and our relationship to it all.
Two essential to solve the puzzle of reality formation:
1. Intentionality combined with coherence is key for creative results.
2. We need to develop our infrastructure, that is our nervous and energy systems, through inner self management methods in order to grow in consciousness and be able to adequately guide universal forces on our behalf.
