Consciousness and Personal Power

Friday, March 19th, 2010

In the last post we talked about power VS force, consciousness and what  personal power means to each individual.

Here are some questions that can help you begin to shift your sense of  personal power throughout the day and become more in charge of your life experience.

What is your predominant emotional tone?

Do you check in periodically with yourself and note  how you are feeling and what your energy level is?

Is your breathing full and easy, bringing in lots of oxygen and energy?

How are you feeling in general?

How do different daily situations affect you?

Which ones generate stress, anger, sadness, frustration?

Do you take time to identify and release difficult feelings, thoughts, physical tensions from your system?

Can you take time and create a space between a stressful event and your reaction? Would you like to be more responsive and less reactive?

Most of us need to practice becoming more aware of what is happening inside and discovering and practicing ways to release stress from our systems. The choice to do so is a huge step toward claiming our power to create lives we love to live.

POWER VS. FORCE: Developing Personal Power

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

A key concept in learning to live from the inside out using energy and consciousness is understanding the difference between personal power and force. Personal power means different things to different people and even different things to the same person, depending on many factors, including: life stage, level of consciousness, personal experience and predominate belief system.

When you hear the words “personal power, “what comes to your mind? When we have asked that question in our classes we hear responses like:

  1.  Presence
  2.  Balance
  3.  Choice
  4.  Being present
  5.  Knowing
  6.  Happiness
  7.  Inner Peace

These answers bring up another question for exploration: does personal power come from having these feelings or are these feelings an outgrowth of embodying the essence of personal power in your core?

Growth, Change and Creativity Part II

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Once you answer the previous post’s questions re: creativity, you may want to take a deeper look at how you can approach life with more creative awareness. Reflect upon these more specific questions to gain a deeper insight into your patterns.

What is necessary to bring a creative style to your life and to cultivate it?

Do you have a space of your own where you nurture your creative nature and drive? How can you create one?

Do you have the physical energy to fuel and birth your creative output? If not, what needs to happen to build that energy?

Do you have the emotional energy – the passion – to fuel and develop your creativity? What needs to happen so this can develop?

Do you take the time to nurture your soul, the place where creativity originates? How can you decide to change this and make time to breathe soul into your life?

Understanding Surrender and Acceptance

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

Whenever we are wishing for something to be different from what it is, we are energetically holding it in our lives.

In our culture the word surrender is loaded with negative connotations, such as giving up, wimping out, being weak, unable to cut it. However, surrender in the context that we are using it is a deep feeling of letting go of struggle and conflict: it is about accepting what is in the moment, not fighting it – accepting the reality even as we seek to see what can be done to change or move beyond it.

Surrender helps to bring your heart into coherence through the inner peace and calm it generates. To truly surrender we need to let go of wanting, yearning, wishing, needing and directing. When we are in these states, our focus is on what we feel we don’t have. We are in a vibration of lack or scarcity. Sometimes we become stuck and even paralyzed by these feelings.

Since our energy reflects our inner state, it is stuck, paralyzed, not moving, so it holds us in place rather than moving freely so it can be channeled in a stronger, more positive direction.

When our focus is on what is missing from our lives, we create more of what we feel we don’t have. We create more of what is missing. Developing an attitude of acceptance – acceptance of the way things ARE – enables you to move beyond patterns of resistance and bring peace to your heart. Acceptance does not mean that something or someone is right or wrong. Acceptance is acknowledging things just the way they are now. It’s just allowing them to be, without judgment. Judgments tear at our energy and do us much more harm than the person, place or thing that we are judging.

“How do You Really Leave the Past Behind?”

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Some of us think holding on makes us strong; but sometimes it is letting go.

Herman Hesse

The topic for our Monday, January 18th radio show is “How do You Really Leave the Past Behind?”  Eckhart Tolle in the Power of Now tells us that we need to be in the present to free ourselves of the past. Actually, we always ONLY live in the present.  We are never in the past nor are we ever in the future.  The past, however, does in many ways condition our lives.

Our experiences and beliefs over a lifetime are all factors that influence how we see the world, how we live our lives and how we react to situations.

Our dilemma is that our past experiences and particularly the way we feel about them …are encoded in our nervous systems, in our very cell tissue and form default reactor patterns that are easily—and unconsciously triggered by people and events. The result is that we often react automatically from the past as it were and are not truly, freely in the present.

So what do we do? How do you let the past go?

Come listen to our show and find out!

Good News for 2012?

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

Early Accolades for “The Great Shift- Catalying a Second Renaissance”, by Dr Robin WoodIt feels very important that we all become aware of the many groups forming around the world who are focused on addressing the challenges before humanity in a positive, life enhancing way.

“We will have a WorldShift sooner or later, and more than likely by the end of 2012.  This is our current window in time.  Robin Wood’s ideas for a Second Reconnaissance  - this time a global, and holistic rebirth and not only a European socio-cultural one –  are a precious compass for helping us make the coming worldshift into a shift to a new and vital human civilization: an upshift to evolution, rather than a downshift to extinction.”

Ervin Laszlo

-          Author of WorldShift 2012 and 86 leading books on the future

Each one of us on the planet is a part of the evolving social organism that is immersed in a great transition. The more we ‘go non-linear’ and develop our higher level human functions, the easier the stress of change will be and the more we can each open to our own creativity and offer something of value in our own corner of the world.

2010: Setting Goals for Success

Sunday, December 27th, 2009

Within the week we will be entering a new decade and a new era. Our future has the potential to be very different from the past as well as from that described in the popular press. There is a lot going on in the world that the mainstream media does not focus in ways that help us understand our current situation or to feel what is possible for us in the future. We are in a time of great change but if we see through the eyes of fear then we will collapse into recreating the weakness of the past. If we expand our vision and see through the eyes of evolution and rise to the challenge of developing higher levels of our human potential then we can understand more deeply where we’ve been, where we are now and also know how we can expand into greater possibilities than before.

Each one of us matters. Each one of us is important. How we set our individual goals is our personal contribution to the collective energy. There are ways to set and maintain desired changes/goals that are more conducive to success than others.

On Monday morning @ 10 A.M. join us to learn what those ways are and hear how to embrace the new energy and set successful goals. And remember if you cannot join us you can always listen to the recording at your convenience.

A New Day: Choose Well at the Start!

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

A very dear and wise friend once said to me, “In my culture we are taught to choose well at the start”. Each morning we each have a new start….how will we choose? Your energy matters! Your heart matters! You matter…choose well what energy you live your day(s) in.
