Here are some questions and answers about the Root Chakra that may help you begin to see how it is functioning in your life. This chakra may not be as exciting or glamorous as other chakras that rule Self Empowerment, Love, Intuition etc., BUT it is the foundation of all the other chakras and without it there are issues with the development of the other chakras. For instance, without a healthy Root Chakra self empowerment is skewed, intuition becomes flights of fancy or even psychosis, manifestation is difficult or impossible, love is co-dependent. So in spite of this not being a wildly interesting place to focus our attention, it does serve us well in the long run.

What does the root chakra influence psychologically? Space-time orientation; Need for logic& structure, Physical& psychological roots/support, Family& societal belief systems; Boundaries, Manifestation of material reality; Survival
What are the fears associated with an imbalance of root energy? Fears: Abandonment; Loss of order; Tendency toward unrealistic fears for physical survival
What are the strengths associated with root chakra energies? Family identity; Honor; Support; Loyalty
What are common physical signs of imbalance in the root chakra? Hemorrhoids; Constipation; Sciatica; Eating Disorders,Spinal & leg problems; Decreased renewal of blood cells

Physical needs are well cared for which results in healthy vitality as well as abundant energy to flow upward to nurture the higher chakras. The higher chakras help to expand your inner world, and open up greater creative manifestation and expanded spiritual experience.
