Four Steps to Enhance Your Co-Creative Ability

Life Cycles: Growth and Change

We are all aware that there is a cycle of growth and change, but we typically do not pay a lot of attention to where we may be within the cycle. The result is that we are not in sync; we are out of rhythm with ourselves, our lives and with the natural timing of all the cycles of which we are a part.

If we pay attention to this natural process and where we are within it, we can become more efficient, patient, and remain healthier as we cut down on frustration and pushing rocks up hills.

Becoming Aware of the Creative Cycle

1.  When you are thinking about creating something new in your life, do you treat it as a creative process and consciously use stage-appropriate methods and tools?

 2. How would your response to change and transitioning from one phase of life to another be different if you honored these cycles within your life?

3.  How would your approach to consciously creating your life change if you incorporated awareness about the stage you were in?

4.  Do you nurture creativity in general in your life?

In the next post we will explore some questions that can take you deeper into looking at how you can approach life with more creative awareness. These more specific questions can help you to gain a deeper insight into your patterns.

2012: Changes in Personal Direction

Our radio show topic for the month of March is change associated with the year 2012 and how each of us can prepare and move forward in positive and effective ways to support overall well-being. This week  we will be talking about how the coming changes are challenging individuals and how those challenges can be managed more effectively…with some grace and ease!

During our March 1 program we talked in general about 2012 and many of the related myths.  Every aspect of the world is changing and we are all feeling it in different ways. How are the changes affecting you?  How are you feeling about your life in general? Are you feeling optimistic?  Do you feel you have some control over matters or are you feeling that whatever you do will not change anything?

The Heart-Mind Connection

Excerpted from Chapter 9, 12 Keys For Life and Self Mastery

Akin to gratitude is appreciation, a word often used in the HeartMath materials to speak about the feeling that generates positive shifts in physiology.

To paraphrase their definition, appreciation is an active emotional state characterized by a perception and recognition of something for which you feel grateful. Appreciation, gratitude and unconditional love are the emotional states that have been shown to produce coherence within our energy fields. (Coherence is defined as that state where two or more systems are in sync, thereby operating more smoothly and effectively.)

In research studies when subjects produce high rates of coherence in the heart, they also exhibit increased heart-brain synchronization, increased immunity, improved physiological function, decreased stress, and better emotional management.

Individuals capable of sustaining high levels of coherence by holding feelings of love, gratitude and appreciation through intention showed profound changes in their DNA. High states of coherence produced an unwinding and lengthening of DNA strands, while fear, anxiety, frustration and stress caused DNA to tighten, become shorter and switch off many of its codes.

Members in a control group who could not produce high levels of coherence showed no changes in their DNA.

The bottom line is that our habitual states of mind affect our lives on any levels and the heart is a key player in regulating these effects.

2012: A Positive View

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Our radio show topic for the month of March will be the upcoming changes associated with the year 2012 and how we can all be prepared and move with the changes that this enormous transition in our world is requiring.

We will be discussing:

3/1/10 Laying the Groundwork f0r 2012 (Recording available)

3/8/10 2012: Changes in Personal Direction

3/15/10 2012: New Models for Relationships

3/22/10 2012: Shifting Paradigms for Health

3/29/10 2012: When Spirit Hits the Sidewalk!

Of course everyone has heard about the predicted end of the world in Dec of 2012 but this is not what is happening. Closer inspection of the prophesies about this time in history  shows  that what is actually happening is that what is ending is some very long cycles and the beginning of new ones.

Indigenous people were in touch with much larger expanse of time than we in the modern world are accustomed to.  The great cycles that are now winding down are referred to as Great World Ages. We have been through 4 of these before and we are finishing up a 5th and entering a 6th. At this point in the ending of these cycles it is typical to have catastrophic conditions on many fronts—weather, politics, economic etc.

Great civilizations collapsed under the weight of times like these but it was not the conditions themselves that caused the collapse—it was the response of the powers that be, the people and their inability to shift how they approached life and the important issues of the day that brought them down.

If you study history/evolution what can be seen is that when there was a willingness to cooperate and work together to solve problems and let go of old unsustainable ways then the civilizations survived and rebuilt on new foundations. If competitiveness prevailed then everyone lost—there was collapse.

It is interesting to observe that the earth’s history includes quantum jumps when crisis conditions were present. E.G. single cell life about to die out—poof—photosynthesis saves the day. In 13.7 billion years this point has presented itself many times and there has always been a quantum leap rather than a slow steady progression from one step to another.

Through evolution Nature provides us with a model of a dynamic process of change that always involves cooperation and increasing complexity.
