Dreams come true; without that possibility, nature would not incite us to have them.”
– John Updike
At times I (Karen)have struggled with my dreams and visions, wondering if they are “legitimate” pursuits or wool gathering! And then I came to realize that my important dreams come from deep within me, from a soulful aspect that is uniquely me. Others do not dream my dreams nor I theirs.
Our passion speaks to us through our dreams and visions. They are unique expressions of our souls longing to be birthed into this manifest reality. What is your dream, your passion? Are you listening deeply and remaining open to what your soul longs to help you with? Are you making time for that very best of friends who travels your whole life with you? That is one way we honor your soul, as well as a way of Living Energy more easily, entering the flow more gracefully. Taking time to be quiet, to ask questions, to remain open to answers from deeper wells of consciousness, makes space for your soul to show itself to you.
Be kind to yourself: open the space for the full force of your uniqueness to flow through and join you in the creation of your life.
Here is a poem contributed by one of our teleclass participants—an awareness that came to her after a time of great turmoil.
In my mind (Karen) it speaks to the deeper, softer place that is available to us always. Unfortunately we often contact it through the doorway of pain instead of consciously developing the contact. The task seems to be to create a stronger connection to this place that holds our soul’s presence, and allow more space for it to take up resonance in our lives.
Thanks to Pamme for sharing words that can help us touch deeper spaces!

at peace
with my world
in spite of the way
things have been
with hope
for the future
no weight on
my feet
in the midst
of the sadness
tears turned
to cooling rain
restful
not so restless
at peace
again
In the previous Blog entry is a poem by David Whyte that is quite full of guidance for us to set our soul’s sails by.
Let’s just look at the first paragraph to explore the notion of allowing yourself to be present to that first moment in the morning when you awake. It is in this fleeting moment that we can access the quiet presence, the pure awareness that is ours, more easily than at other times during our busy and sometimes hectic days.
Allowing yourself to notice this moment and just be with it helps you to open up to a greater experience of your higher awareness and spiritual connection. As we have said many times in our other writings: it is not enough to know about these things, we must put into practice the concepts and theories in order to grow our spiritual muscles and influence what we create.
So just allowing yourself the gift of this early morning moment can help acquaint you with a larger sense of yourself that can grow over time and nurture you in the deepest sort of way.
Another way that you can benefit from this time when the doorway to higher consciousness is more accessible is to consciously place yourself in the feeling of flow. Once you have it moving quite smoothly and strongly within, with your mind focus it outward into your day. Insert your intentions for the day—this can be specific or broad depending on where you are in your life. An intention that I (Karen) often use is to stay mindful and touch each moment and person that I encounter throughout the day with kindness, healing and love. At other times I may focus on something I am currently working in my own development or a situation I am hoping to create.
Whatever way you choose to use this precious time, it is true that you will gradually become more aware of that part of you that “can live wholeheartedly”.
In that first hardly noticed moment in which you wake,
coming back to this life from the other
more secret, moveable and frighteningly honest world
where everything began,
there is a small opening into the new day
which closes the moment you begin your plans. What you can plan is too small for you to live.
What you can live wholeheartedly will make plans enough
for the vitality hidden in your sleep.
To be human is to become visible
while carrying what is hidden as a gift to others.
To remember the other world in this world
is to live in your true inheritance.
You are not a troubled guest on this earth,
you are not an accident amidst other accidents
you were invited from another and greater night
than the one from which you have just emerged.
Now, looking through the slanting light of the morning window
toward the mountain presence of everything that can be
what urgency calls you to your one love?
What shape waits in the seed of you
to grow and spread its branches
against a future sky?
Is it waiting in the fertile sea?
In the trees beyond the house?
In the life you can imagine for yourself?
In the open and lovely white page on the waiting desk?
The years, like a sculptors fine tools,
Carve lines into our lives.
Lessons engrave our souls.
Experience smooths the edges.
Age adds grace, beauty, refinement.
And as a fine work of art,
We are never finished,
But always becoming.
